We are a place, not only a website
The collection lives in Kigali, and so do the people who make it. You are welcome to come and stand in front of the work, and to meet the hands behind it.
- The Kigali space
- Our gallery in Kigali, open by appointment through the week. It is a working room rather than a white cube — pieces come and go as they sell and as new work arrives.
- Guided studio routes
- A half day between two or three studios, with the artists at work rather than posing. You will see unfinished things, which is the point.
- What is showing now
- The pieces currently on the walls, and who they belong to. Ask before you come and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth the trip that week.
Where we are
Kigali, Rwanda. We send the exact address and directions when a visit is confirmed, because the space is not staffed continuously.
When to come
Monday to Saturday, by appointment. Mornings are better for studio routes — the light is kinder and the makers are working.
Getting here
Twenty minutes from Kigali International Airport by car. If you are coming from outside Rwanda, tell us your dates early and we will build the route around them.
Ask for a visit
Tell us roughly when you are in Kigali, how long you have, and what you would most like to see. A person reads it and answers.
